Paraguayan cinema at Cine de Barrio
Access to Saturday screenings is free, and available on a first-come-first-served basis until seating capacity is reached. This initiative, presented by the Itaú Foundation and supported by the Paraguayan Ministry of Culture, provides a valuable opportunity to experience national cinematic heritage. The “Paraguayan Saturdays” lineup is dedicated to showcasing diverse Paraguayan narratives:
May 17 (5.00 PM): Viewers can delve into the poignant drama of “La Última Tierra” (Pablo Lamar, Paraguay 2016). It follows the story of an older couple living in solitude on an isolated hill.
May 24 (5.00 PM): The intriguing “Boreal” (Federico Adorno, Paraguay 2022) promises a compelling cinematic experience with its beautiful cinematography.
May 31 (5:00 PM): The month concludes with “Costa Dulce” (Enrique Collar, Paraguay 2013), showcasing Paraguayan storytelling.
Midweek classics from French Cinema
In addition to the Saturday focus on Paraguayan movies, Cine de Barrio also presents Classic Wednesdays, featuring renowned French films from the Nouvelle Vague movement. These screenings take place on Wednesdays, with the first at 7:00 PM and the second one at 9:00 PM:
