VIP Members pay the VIP Member price: 50% off tickets across our regular events programme, from our top-tier Investing in Paraguay Forums to our pub crawls and trivia nights.
Tickets before everyone else
Tickets for our events go on sale to VIP Members before general release. It's your chance to secure a place at our most popular events before they sell out.
VIP-only events
Some occasions never go on public sale. Invitations reach VIP Members and nobody else.

A private group for VIP Members only. Hear plans first, ask anything, and reach a room full of interesting people who chose to be here. It has house rules, and it is kept well.

Fluido runs full-time Spanish and cultural immersion for people who want to get up to speed with the language, and with life in Paraguay, properly. VIP Members who take that on get their first week free, worth $300. It isn't for everyone, and that's the point: if ongoing immersion is your plan, this one benefit is worth more than the membership costs.

The black card
Your personalised VIP membership card
Every card is personalised with your name and your VIP number, and printed individually. Allow up to a week for yours to be ready.
Collect it at one of our events, which is a good excuse to come along, or we'll hold it safely until you arrive in Asunción. Plenty of VIP Members buy before they land.
VIP numbers are issued in order. The earlier you join, the lower yours will be, and nobody ever gets it after you.

The price never comes down.
Lifetime VIP membership started at $65 and has risen with every round of new benefits. Today it is $180, and it will rise again. What it will never do is fall. No sales, no discounts, no special offers on the membership itself. Whenever you join, you join at the lowest price there will ever be from that day on.
Said plainly: the benefit list is alive. Things get added, partner offers change, events come and go. What you are buying is a membership we work to make more valuable every year, and our commitment that it never costs less than it does right now.

Is this a subscription?
No. One payment of $180 and the membership is yours for life. There is nothing to renew and no way to accidentally keep paying us.
Will the price change?
It will rise as the programme grows, and it has risen already. It will never come down. That is a published commitment, so joining today is the cheapest it will ever be.
How do I get my VIP membership card?
After you join, we personalise your VIP membership card with your name and VIP number. Each card is printed individually, so allow up to a week. Then collect it at one of our events, or we'll hold it until you arrive in Asunción.
Do I have to live in Asunción?
Not at all. We can hold your card until you arrive, and VIP Members who visit a few times a year tell us the card earns its keep on every trip.
Do the benefits ever change?
Yes, and mostly in one direction: the programme keeps growing. Offers from partner businesses are set by those businesses and can change, which is why the heart of the membership is what The Asunción Times runs itself. The half-price VIP Member ticket applies to our regular events programme, and to tickets rather than food and drink.
