Film music enthusiasts will have the opportunity to experience some of cinema’s most celebrated scores. On Thursday, 23 July 2026, the National Symphony Orchestra (OSN) presents Symphony of Film, a charity gala, at 21:00. The concert, organised in partnership with the Florencia Foundation, will take place at the Municipal Theatre of Asunción.
The evening will be conducted by Maestro Ernesto Estigarribia Mussi and will feature Paraguayan singer Andrea Valobra as the guest artist. Organisers said the event aims to combine culture, entertainment, and philanthropy while raising funds for early intervention services that promote hearing inclusion.
A celebration of film music
The Symphony Of Film programme will feature symphonic performances of some of the most recognisable film scores ever composed. Audiences can expect music by internationally acclaimed composers, including John Williams, Hans Zimmer, Leonard Bernstein, James Horner, and Lalo Schifrin. The repertoire spans several decades of cinema and includes themes from films such as Harry Potter, Star Wars, Superman, Jurassic Park, Jaws, Mission: Impossible, and Pirates of the Caribbean. These works remain among the most recognisable orchestral compositions in popular culture.
Singer Andrea Valobra will also perform a selection of songs that have become cinematic classics in their own right. Her programme includes My Heart Will Go On, I Will Always Love You, Let It Go, and Somewhere Over the Rainbow, bringing together film, musical theatre, and popular music in a single performance.
Supporting hearing inclusion
Beyond the musical programme, the gala has a charitable purpose. According to the organisers, all funds raised through ticket sales will support programmes focused on the early detection of hearing loss and auditory-verbal therapy for children. These initiatives seek to improve access to specialised care and strengthen hearing inclusion from an early age. Tickets are available through the Ticketea website.
