AmSud Scientific Seminar

Asunción Will Host The AmSud Scientific Seminar Tomorrow

The National Council of Science and Technology (Conacyt) invites you to participate in the STIC, MATH and CLIMAT AmSud Scientific Seminar. The event, with the theme “Mathematics applied to science and engineering based on data for Earth and life sciences”, will be held on Tuesday, November 5, in the Auditorium of the Scientific Society of Paraguay in Asunción.

The event will be divided into two key areas. The first part will focus on the fundamental mathematical theory that connects various disciplines, including dynamical systems and control, prediction models, topological data analysis, machine learning, optimisation, and game theory.

The second part will explore applications of data-driven models to real-life problems in areas such as Earth and life sciences. Topics will range from complex systems and climate, to finance, human behavior, and epidemiology, with a special focus on scientific computing.

It is organised by Conacyt together with the regional secretaries STIC, MATH and CLIMAT AmSud and the French Embassy in Paraguay.

The STIC, MATH and CLIMAT AmSud programmes are regional scientific cooperation initiatives promoted by France, bringing together several South American countries and a network of partner institutions. These programmes fund the mobility of researchers and students to foster collaboration and strengthen research networks in specific areas such as information and communication sciences and technologies (STIC), mathematics (MATH) and climate change (CLIMAT).

Within the framework of this collaboration, scientific seminars are organised each year with the participation of representatives from all member countries, which facilitates the transfer of knowledge between South American and French researchers, expanding the impact on the science and technology system of their respective communities.
