People from every corner of the globe are drawn to Asunción, where Paraguay’s laid-back capital has quietly become a melting pot of cultures, ideas, and ambition. Every other Tuesday evening from 18:00 to 21:00, digital nomads, expats, and friendly locals come together at the ever-popular English networking event organised by The Asunción Times. In this People of Asunción series, we introduce the inspiring individuals who make this scene so uniquely alive. In #31, Fabio Vitto from The Netherlands.
Meet Fabio Vitto
Fabio Vitto is a Dutch-Italian entrepeneur from The Netherlands’ capital of Amsterdam, who moved to Paraguay earlier in 2026. He works remotely on his business of AI automation and implementing AI into businesses, while exploring new opportunities in the Paraguayan market.
What are you doing in Paraguay?

“I came here for a short periode earlier in the year, and that is when I decided to come back after a trip to Brazil. I see lots of opportunities in Paraguay, especially for services that already exist in Europe, but not yet in Paraguay. I am currently working remotely on my business, and I am looking for new clients here. I want to provide those services and grow my own business.”
“I started about two years ago with my business partner, when we were still at university. We do AI automation and implement AI into businesses. We help companies automate their processes and get rid of the headaches of having 20 different spreadsheets everywhere. We combine all into one system, so business owners have more clarity. Our business is called Clarity Craft for that reason: the name fits perfectly.”
What is your favourite place in Asunción, and why?
“I really like La Cuadrita, the little street with all its restaurants in the Recoleta area. It is near my house, a nice and relaxed place. You do not hear cars, there are trees around you, and the atmosphere is just very beautiful”.
What is your favourite place outside Asunción, and why?
“I have not visited many places in Paraguay yet. I have been to the city of Ciudad del Este, and the Iguazú waterfalls near there are my favourite place outside Asunción. Sometimes I miss the water here, because I come from a country surrounded by water. Amsterdam is build on it actually.”

What do you love most about Paraguay?
“The people here are wonderful. Everyone is so open and genuinely curious, eager to chat about where you are from and what brings you to Paraguay. Making friends comes easily. What I love most is connecting ambitious, like-minded people and watching something meaningful take shape between them. It brings me real joy.”
“I also love the slower pace of life. I am used to everything going fast, with everybody feeling stressed. But in Paraguay, you can calm down and go with the flow a little more. I like that a lot. For Europeans, the cost of living is also lower compared with Amsterdam. That is another big benefit of living Paraguay, although I realise prices are rising in Asunción, and that can not be easy for everyone.”
What do you miss most from home?
“I do not miss that much, mostly my family and friends. I also miss going everywhere by bicycle. It sounds weird, but I am half Dutch, and we cycle everywhere. In Paraguay, you mostly need a car to get around. From Italy, I miss the food. The food in Ascunción is very good, but it is just not the same as back there.”
If you moved away tomorrow, what would you take from Paraguay?
“My tereré. Tereré is amazing, really. But I would also take the lesson of slowing down sometimes. For Europeans, everything is fast-paced. You always need to be fast. I want to take that lesson with me, because sometimes slowing down can actually help you get further ahead.”
