Young Paraguayans Invited To Join Preparatory Course For Military Careers

The Military Academy “Mariscal Francisco Solano López” (ACADEMIL) in Paraguay has opened enrolment for a preparatory course in Capiatá, aimed at civilian young people interested in joining the Armed Forces. The programme begins on 18 July 2026 and runs until 14 November 2026, offering training for candidates preparing to apply to military education. It targets applicants who have not completed Mandatory Military Service and seek an introduction to discipline, leadership, and officer training.

Training opportunity

ACADEMIL’s preparatory course is designed to support young Paraguayans who want to pursue a military career. It provides initial academic and physical preparation before the official admission process to the academy. The institution states that the programme helps candidates adapt to the demands of military life. The initiative is part of the academy’s broader mission to strengthen recruitment and guide future officers through structured preparation.

Who can apply?

The programme is open to natural Paraguayan citizens aged between 18 and 22 years at the time of application. It is specifically aimed at civilians who have not completed Mandatory Military Service (SMO). Applicants must also meet physical requirements, including a minimum height of 1.70 metres for men and 1.65 metres for women.

Candidates must present a range of documents during the application process. These include a birth certificate, secondary education certificate validated by the Ministry of Education and Culture, and a national identity card with a certified copy. Additional requirements include police and judicial clearance certificates, a certificate of single status, and military service enrolment or booklet documentation. Applicants must also submit proof regarding political party affiliation status, if applicable. Three passport-sized photographs are also required for the application.

The preparatory course will run from 18 July 2026 to 14 November 2026. During this period, participants will receive structured training intended to prepare them for the academy’s selection process.
