Eko’ápe Feriafest: A Celebration Of Nature And Culture In Asunción

On Saturday August 9, 2025, the Port of Asunción will transform into a vibrant hub of music, art, and ecological consciousness. Eko’ápe Feriafest returns for its third edition. Founded by Mali Oliveira and Fabri Demestri, this unique festival combines environmental awareness with culture and joy. This event creates a space where sustainability and celebration go hand in hand.

A sunset festival by the river

Set against the picturesque backdrop of the Paraguay River, the festival begins at 16:00. Families, friends, and nature lovers are invited to spend the afternoon and evening outdoors. As the sun sets, attendees will enjoy live music performances, explore a sustainable fair featuring eco-conscious brands and artisans.

Festival-goers will be able to indulge in a variety of food options, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free dishes. There will also be activities for children, art and photography exhibitions, environmental talks and workshops. A special telescope observation experience hosted by the Museum of Science (Museo de Ciencias, MuCi) – which will be reconstructed close to the Costanera – offers visitors a chance to connect not only with nature, but with the cosmos itself.

Eko’ápe Feriafest’s mission: rooted in the earth

“Eko’ápe” combines the word eko (ecology) with ko’ápe (here, in Guaraní), symbolising a call to act for the planet starting right here. Each edition of the festival aims to reconnect people with nature, inspire change through education and creativity, and support local initiatives rooted in sustainability.

“Our goal is to celebrate the Earth while promoting everyday actions that protect it,” state the organisers. “Through music, art, and community, we believe we can plant the seeds of change.”

Building a greener future, together

The Eko’ápe Feriafest has grown with each edition, thanks to the support of Paraguay’s eco-conscious community, creators, and allies. From small businesses offering plastic-free solutions to artists working with recycled materials, every corner of the festival invites people to reimagine a greener future.
