The second edition of the International Gastronomic Festival “Foods of the World”, a fair with dishes from 15 delegations from Venezuela, Uruguay, Syria, Peru, Mexico, Japan, Greece, Italy, among other countries, and Paraguay, will be held on Sunday, November 3, from 10am to 6pm, at the Municipal Sports Center in the San Miguel neighborhood, almost under the Jhu hill and next to the old train station in Paraguarí. Admission will be free for all.
This gastronomic event, declared of tourist and cultural interest by the National Secretariat of Tourism, is organised by Yvu Paraguay, with the support of the Municipality of Paraguarí and the government of the ninth department.
The objective is to promote the cultural and gastronomic integration of the peoples, encourage internal tourism and strengthen local and national entrepreneurs, as well as promote solidarity.
The director of Tourism Services of the National Secretariat of Tourism, Andrés Ortíz, invited everyone to participate in the gastronomic festival, in order to promote national and international gastronomy.
He reported that Venezuela, Uruguay, Syria, Peru, Mexico, Japan and Paraguay will participate, with all our gastronomic offerings such as borí borí, Paraguayan soup and other typical dishes that will be tasted tomorrow, November 3.
The organisers explained that the ambassadors of the Republic of Mexico, Manuel Nungarai Veladez, and the ambassador of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay, Eduardo Bouzout, confirmed their presence. The Mexican Ambassador will lead the preparation of typical dishes from his country. All the money raised at the stand will be donated to the Animal Adoption Center “Patitas Paraguari.”
The festival venue is located in the city centre, amidst important attractions such as the imposing Cerro Jhu and next to the old train station, which has been completely renovated. As part of the festival programme, city tours will also be organised to show all the attractions that the capital of the ninth department has to offer.
Around 200km away on the same day, different kinds of foods of the world are being created – an actual World Sandwich, between Paraguay and Taiwan!
