Paraguay’s General Directorate of the Civil Registry has announced a new edition of its national civil marriage campaign, “Paraguay Se Casa 2026” (Paraguay Gets Married 2026). This year’s mass wedding initiative aims to culminate in a historic community wedding for 1,000 couples from Asunción and the Central department.
Under the slogan, “United by love. Protected by the law,” the nationwide campaign seeks to facilitate access to civil marriage, provide legal security for families, and reinforce the family unit as a cornerstone of society. The initiative is designed to bring state services closer to the public through a simple and accessible process.
A record-breaking mass wedding ceremony
After reaching over 3,500 couples across the country in the previous edition, the programme returns with a significant challenge. Titled “El Sí Más Grande” (The Biggest Yes), the main event will be a mass wedding ceremony on 15 November, 2026, at the National Secretariat of Sports (SND) Arena in Asunción.
Organisers state that formalising a family is not only a legal act but also a tool for protection, stability, and strengthening the family nucleus. Civil marriage in Paraguay grants couples legal rights and benefits regarding matters such as inheritance, healthcare, and social security.
Registration is now open
Couples from Asunción and the Central department who are interested in the mass wedding participating can now begin the registration process. Official information and enrolment are being handled via the mobile number +595 984 771151.
While the main event focuses on the capital and its surroundings, the “Paraguay Se Casa” programme will have a national reach. Couples residing in other departments of the country can also register using the same contact number. Based on the number of applications received, the Civil Registry will create a schedule of celebration dates for each department.
A public policy of outreach
The specific dates and locations for ceremonies outside the capital region will be communicated directly to those who have registered and announced through General Directorate of the Civil Registry official channels. In this way, the 2026 campaign aims to once again cover the entire national territory, organising civil marriage events according to the demand registered in each area.
With this new edition, the institutions involved aim to surpass their previous achievements. The campaign continues to consolidate a public policy that makes the Civil Registry more accessible to citizens, offers legal protection to families, and reaffirms the societal value of the family unit.
