Paraguayan authorities have announced a new programme targeting young people seeking technical scholarships. It will offer 200 fully funded technical scholarships in areas with strong labour demand. Applications can be submitted online until 6 April 2026, or until all places are filled.
The programme forms part of broader public policies aimed at strengthening youth skills. Also, to improve access to employment opportunities. By focusing on technical training, the initiative seeks to connect young Paraguayans with strategic sectors linked to innovation and economic development. The initiative is led by the National Youth Secretariat (SNJ) in partnership with the Santa María del Rosario Technological Institute (ITSSMAR).
Full coverage and programme structure for technical scholarships
The technical scholarships will cover the full monthly tuition fee. This tuition fee is approximately ₲350.000 per month over a period of two years. Students will be required to pay a one-time enrolment fee of ₲100.000. Courses will be in both virtual and blended formats.
Classes will take place from Monday to Friday between 19:00 and 21:30, with in-person sessions scheduled on Saturdays from 14:30 to 18:00 at the ITSSMAR campus in Luque. A fully virtual option will also be available during weekday evenings. To maintain the technical scholarships, participants must meet a minimum attendance rate of 75% and comply with institutional regulations.
The technical scholarships programme includes a range of technical careers aligned with current labour market needs. Available fields include electricity, industrial robotics, automotive mechanics and web application development. Furthermore, occupational safety and risk prevention and banking administration are also included. These areas were selected to enhance employability and provide practical skills that respond to Paraguay’s evolving economic landscape.
Application process and requirements for technical scholarships
The technical scholarships are open to Paraguayan citizens aged between 18 and 29 who have completed secondary education. They also need hold a minimum academic average of 4. However, public sector employees and current beneficiaries of other SNJ programmes are not eligible. Applications can be submitted online until 6 April 2026, or until all places are filled. Evaluations will take place between 7 and 9 April, with final selections scheduled for 10 April.
Candidates will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis. In addition, priority will be given to applicants from districts identified as vulnerable by the government’s Social Cabinet.
Expanding opportunities for young Paraguayans
Through this initiative, the National Youth Secretariat aims to expand access to technical education. Also, to support the professional development of young people across the country.
