The Power Up Orchestra returns to Asunción with the world première of Dragon Power + Nakama, an epic show that unites the best of Dragon Ball (Z, GT, Super, video games, and films) and One Piece in an experience designed for the most devoted anime enthusiasts.
The symphonic anime production will be staged at the Gran Teatro Lírico José Asunción Flores (Teatro Banco Central del Paraguay) on 23 August, 2025.
Dragon Power + Nakama
The performance, under the direction of Mariano Power, promises an exceptional combination of Saiyan symphony, the energy of a big band, and the rhythm of a pirate rock ensemble.
With more than thirty musicians on stage, striking visuals, and vocals in Japanese and Spanish by Flavia Power, the concert will take audiences on an unforgettable journey through some of the most iconic moments of their favourite anime series.
The repertoire includes legendary pieces such as Cha-La Head-Cha-La, Saiyan Saga Medley, Luffy’s Theme, Rubber Bazooka, and Overtaken, among many others, in previously unreleased orchestral arrangements.
Power Up Orchestra
Power Up is a dynamic musical collective renowned for fusing orchestral grandeur with elements of rock, jazz, funk, Latin styles, and choral music. It is the first orchestra dedicated exclusively to performing music from video games, anime, television series, cartoons, and films.
The ensemble was founded in Argentina in 2012 by Mariano Power, who, in addition to his formal studies as an arranger and saxophonist, drew inspiration from countless hours spent watching cartoons and playing video games with his friends.
Power Up has toured extensively across South America and Europe. The voice of the group is Flavia Power, who performs in Japanese, English, Latin American Spanish, European Spanish, Basque, and Catalan.
Similarly, in Paraguay there are also efforts to make symphonic music accessible to wider audiences, with the Asunción Symphony Orchestra. They offer free concerts in public spaces such as churches and theatres, aiming to familiarise younger generations with the richness of Paraguayan musical heritage.
