The renowned international sports store chain Decathlon took a significant step in its global expansion. It will open its doors in Asunción on Saturday, October 5th, on level one of the Paseo La Galería shopping mall.
Decathlon was founded in 1976 in the French town of Englos. From the beginning, its objective was to be a valuable brand for people and the planet, with the mission of making the multiple benefits of practising sports accessible in a sustainable way.
The Paseo La Galería store joins the more than 1,750 stores that Decathlon has in various countries worldwide. As for the first store in Paraguay, the investment is USD 3,000,000, and it has 3,200 square metres, which will generate more than 60 direct jobs. As part of its expansion plans in the country, the company expects to open at least two more stores with a total investment of US$10,000,000 and more than 200 direct jobs, informed Magela Méndez, Decathlon’s commercial manager.
Its arrival in the country will bring new sports options and modalities, a different vision of sports, and an improved experience. The brand highlights the goal of inspiring and equipping more people to enjoy the wonders of sport the way they love it and, above all, to enjoy the process.
Decathlon offers a wide range of sports equipment, clothing and accessories for more than 65 sports and with the opening of its first store in Paraguay, the brand is committed to becoming an active partner in the national sports community by providing products with the best value for money and inspiring experiences for all. Likewise, the brand targets all customers and wishes to encourage the practice of new sports and help those who already practise some sport to progress and grow. They offer merchandise for the whole family, from babies to seniors, in sizes from XXS to 3XXL.
