Each week, Tommy-Maurice is going to a different restaurant in Asunción. This week, he has been to Tío Lucas, a great establishment located in Barrio Bella Vista.
Last week, I visited a great restaurant in Asunción, the Tío Lucas. Since the establishment moved to a new location in Barrio Bella Vista, I had never been to it. However, I really wanted to try it as I have heard many good things about it, and it was also a place that was recommended many times. Overall, I really liked my experience! You will not regret it! It is a location that everyone should try!
Tío Lucas is a great local restaurant that offers pizza, sandwiches and hamburgers, fish, pasta, salads, fries, and many other food items. I took a hamburger, the “Super,” that contains an egg, ham, cheese, lettuce, tomato, and caramelised onions. It also comes with fries. I took a cola to accompany my dish. It was excellent! The meat was well-cooked and very tender, melting in your mouth like a slice of cheese. The egg and the ham were also perfectly cooked, the lettuce and tomatoes were fresh, the cheese was great, and the bun was super soft. I have never been a big fan of onions in general, but very liked these ones! I have not tried the whole menu, but I can tell you this hamburger is one to try!

The beautiful restaurant has an interior part that can seat around 100 people, a small exterior part, and a module for children outside to play on, making it very family-friendly. Since it is a quieter but relatively large street, it also has many places to park your cars and also has its own parking space. I came very early, and big groups of people arrived at the same time as me. When I left, the interior part was almost full. Still, the service was very fast! The employees were also attentive and very friendly. The establishment is very clean and spotless.
My hamburger and fries were at a combined price of 48K Guaraníes, and the cola at 12K Guaraníes. In total, 60K Guaraníes is the equivalent of less than 8 American dollars or just slightly over 7 Euros, which is a great price! The same can be priced in North America or Europe at 20 to 30K Guaraníes more! The cheapest items on the menu are the fries, the omelette, the rice, and the desserts, which are all in the 20Ks of Guaraníes. The highest-priced items on the menu are the platters to share at close to 100K Guaraníes, and the bigger pizzas in the 60Ks of Guaraníes. Apart from cash, you can also pay with your foreign cards.
This iconic restaurant is located in Barrio Bella Vista, at the corner of Teniente Primero Porfirio Saldivar Figari, Teniente Primero Horacio Gini, and Capitán Oscar Rivas Ortellado. You can access Figari from Avenida España. If you live closer to Avenida Mariscal López, you can reach España and Figari by either Avenida Brasilia, Avenida Venezuela, Santisimo Sacramento, and/or General Eugenio Alejandrino Garay. You can also easily order an Uber or Bolt to or from that place. You can also get in or out of public buses on the bigger streets nearby. If you live very close, you can walk there without problems, as it is a safe area. Luckily for you, it is open every day! Except for Sundays, when it opens at 5 PM, it opens each morning at 9 AM. It closes at 0:30 AM the next day except for Fridays and Saturdays, where it closes at 1:30 AM. Plenty of time to visit the restaurant and eat great food!
