Ñakyra Producciones is set to present the second edition of Festival Ciudad Escénica (Scenic City Festival), an event billed as “Un encuentro escénico de ciudades unidas”: a scenic gathering of united cities. The festival brings together artists and theatre companies from different cities across Paraguay, with the dual aim of fostering cultural exchange and offering audiences a varied programme of Paraguayan theatre.
Under the direction of Luis Corrales and Fran Mareco, the four-day event will take place on 11, 12, 13 and 14 August 2026 at Espacio Cultural Staudt, located at Iturbe 333 corner of Mariscal Estigarribia in Asunción. Performances are scheduled on evenings for 18:00, 19:00, 20:00 and 21:00.
The Staudt Cultural Space is a revitalised historic building in Asunción’s historic centre. Originally developed in the late 19th century and later home to the prominent import firm Staudt y Compañía, it was restored in 2025 to house the Paraguay’s Secretaría Nacional de Cultura’s offices and a free public cultural space for exhibitions, workshops, and events. Recently, the space hosted the August 2026 edition of the ORE Indigenous Art And Craft Fair.
Festival Ciudad Escénica line-up and ticket information
The organisers have assembled an interesting line-up of ensembles that reflects the geographical spread of the country’s theatre scene.
Among the participating ensembles:

- La Voz de la Sombra – Proyecto One (Mariano Roque Alonso),
- El humo que dejamos – Independiente Teatro (San Lorenzo),
- Nariz Roja – Dion Teatro (Asunción),
- Todo esto es normal (según la encuesta) – Yemina Benítez (Limpio),
- Contrato Abierto – Joapy Estudio de Teatro y Compañía (Lambaré),
- Yvy Porãite – Susana Morales (Asunción),
- El Último Banquete – Tava Mba’e (Asunción).

Strengthening independent theatre
According to the organisers, the Festival Ciudad Escénica seeks to strengthen Paraguay’s independent theatre sector by creating a shared platform where artists from different municipalities can present their work side by side. In doing so, it hopes to build connections between performers and audiences, encouraging dialogue and mutual discovery across the country’s theatrical community.
