Last Chance To Enjoy Science Museum June Programme In Asunción

Visitors have one final opportunity to enjoy MuCi’s programme of immersive planetarium shows, outdoor activities, and family-friendly experiences before June 2026 comes to a close. The activities welcome visitors of all ages and combine science, art, and nature through interactive and educational experiences. The Museum of Sciences (MuCi) is located at the Textilia complex on General Santos 1030 in Asunción. The programme includes both ticketed attractions and free experiences designed to spark curiosity among children and adults alike.

Immersive planetarium experiences

One of MuCi’s flagship attractions is San Cosmos, Paraguay’s first digital planetarium. Visitors can enjoy immersive audiovisual productions exploring the Solar System, distant planets, stars, moons, and other astronomical wonders beneath a full-dome digital projection. The current line-up features Zodiac: The Mystery of the Signs, Solar System Live Show, Beyond the Sun: In Search of a New Earth, Mars: The Ultimate Journey, Quiet Hour, The Moons of the Solar System, Stellar Stories: From Stars to Supernovae, and Dinosaurs: A Story of Survival.

Sessions run from 08:30 to 12:30 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, from 08:30 to 12:30 and 16:00 to 20:00 on Thursdays and Fridays, and from 14:00 to 20:00 on Saturdays and Sundays. An adults-only session is also available every Saturday at 20:00. Tickets cost ₲40,000 (approximately US$6.5) and may be purchased online or at the venue.

The planetarium also offers Cosmic Scales, an interactive activity that helps visitors understand the immense scale of the Solar System. It is available on Tuesdays from 09:00 to 11:00, Thursdays from 16:00 to 18:00, and Saturdays from 16:00 to 19:00.

Meanwhile, Quiet Hour: Solar System at Full Speed provides a sensory-adapted experience for neurodivergent visitors. The session takes place on Saturdays and Sundays from 14:00 to 15:00.

Outdoor activities showcase Paraguay’s biodiversity

The final days of the programme also feature outdoor experiences celebrating local wildlife and natural spaces.

Native Scales introduces visitors to Paraguay’s native freshwater fish, allowing them to observe their colours and behaviour while learning about their habitats. The activity takes place every Thursday and Friday beside the bio-pond from 16:00 to 19:00. Admission costs ₲15,000 (approximately US$2).

On Saturdays, visitors can join Sábado Porã (Pretty Saturday): Gardens and Birdwatching. Equipped with binoculars, participants explore MuCi’s woodland area to identify local bird species before continuing through the themed gardens. The activity runs from 17:30 to 18:30, with limited places available. Tickets cost ₲15,000 (approximately US$2).

Free activities for all ages

MuCi also offers several free experiences for visitors wishing to explore the museum grounds at their own pace. Science in the Open Air is a self-guided route through the bio-pond, themed gardens, and interactive trails, highlighting the connections between science and nature. A guided version is also available for ₲15,000 (approximately US$2). Another option is Po Prendé: Themed Gardens, where visitors can discover aromatic, medicinal, and ornamental plants while learning about their traditional uses. The activity takes place on Saturdays from 14:00 to 17:00 and Sundays from 14:00 to 19:00 at MuCi Square.

With June coming to an end, these final sessions offer one last chance to experience the museum’s current programme before a new calendar of activities begins in July.
