Paraguayan artistic evolution on display

Art In The Timeline

The Art In The Timeline exhibition draws on works from the renowned Nasta Collection. This private collection is considered one of the most important in Paraguay. It provides a strong overview of national artistic development since the 1980s. The project is supported by the Fundación Texo – Memorias para el Futuro. The foundation works to preserve and promote contemporary artistic heritage.

Visitors will encounter a panoramic selection of Paraguayan art from the mid-1980s onwards. The works illustrate shifts in technique, themes, and visual language. Additionally, they also reveal how artists have responded to social and cultural change. The exhibition positions art as a living archive of national identity.

A cultural dialogue

The exhibition is organised within the framework of the Latin America and Caribbean Weeks. This programme is known as SALC and is promoted by France. It highlights cultural and academic exchange between France and the region. SALC is a long-standing initiative that celebrates Latin America and the Caribbean annually. Moreover, the programme includes cultural, scientific, political, and economic activities.

Through this exhibition, the Embassy of France reinforces its cultural diplomacy in Paraguay. It supports artistic exchange and shared reflection on heritage and contemporary creation. The programme also fosters public access to diverse cultural experiences in Asunción. In its most recent editions, SALC has expanded across multiple countries and formats. It includes in-person, hybrid, and digital events. This broad reach reflects its goal of increasing cultural accessibility and participation.
