The United States Embassy in Paraguay has launched applications for the 2025 Hayes Scholarships, a program aimed at young university students from the cities of Concepción, San Pedro, and Canindeyú. This program aims to offer 24 months of virtual English language training through an interactive and communicative methodology, connecting participants with topics of interest to young people and American culture.
Applications will be open until April 24, 2025, through this link. Interested applicants must meet several requirements. Paraguayan or naturalised students residing in the aforementioned cities and pursuing a university degree or technical degree are eligible to apply. They must also have completed at least the first semester or first year of university studies, have a GPA equal to or higher than 3.5, and have a device with a stable internet connection.
Those selected for the Hayes Scholarships will have free access to English classes, digital materials on the Paraguayan-American Cultural Center (CCPA) platform, and a fixed amount to cover internet costs.
It’s important to note that students already enrolled in English programs at other language institutes, or those pursuing specialisations, master’s degrees, or doctoral degrees, are not eligible to apply. Furthermore, the use of artificial intelligence tools invalidates applications.
The application must be completed online, which is open until April 24, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. For more information or questions, please email becashayes@gmail.com or visit the program’s general information document.
