Asunción has been ranked 18th globally among cities experiencing the fastest growth in digital nomad arrivals during 2026. According to data from the international platform Nomads.com, which monitors trends for remote workers, the Paraguayan capital has seen a 40% increase in arrivals over the last nine months.
The report places Asunción within the world’s Top 20 emerging destinations for this sector. It shares the list with prominent cities across Asia, Europe, and Latin America that are gaining recognition as hubs for innovation, connectivity, and quality of life for professionals who work remotely.
A fast-growing destination
The fastest-growing digital nomad cities ranking was compiled from an analysis of more than 425,000 travel records and check-ins by members of the Nomads.com global community. This platform is a key reference point for digital nomads, and its data identifies destinations with the most accelerated growth in remote worker arrivals this year.
Several factors have contributed to Asunción’s rising appeal. These include its competitive cost of living, Paraguay’s macroeconomic stability, and improving digital connectivity. Furthermore, the local hospitality and an increasing number of dedicated spaces for remote work and entrepreneurship have enhanced the city’s reputation.

These attributes have increased the city’s visibility within an international community that favours destinations offering a good quality of life and suitable conditions for remote professional activities. Asunción’s affordability is a significant draw, with estimates suggesting a single person can live comfortably for between US$1,300 and US$1,400 per month.
The ranking places Asunción alongside other high-growth global destinations such as Uluwatu in Indonesia, Hoi An and Da Nang in Vietnam, and Shenzhen and Beijing in China. The list also includes established European and Asian hubs like Stockholm in Sweden, Seoul in South Korea, and Istanbul in Turkey.
