Paraguay’s beef exports closed the year 2024 with a record figure, reaching a total of 353,016,722 kilograms of Paraguayan beef sent to 59 markets worldwide. This generated revenues of US$1,776,828,610 for the sector. The amount exported in 2024 continues the steady growth in beef shipment volumes, which have exceeded 300 million kilos per year since 2021.
The main destination for Paraguayan beef exports was Chile, which bought more than 120 million kilos of the product during the year. Other important markets were the Republic of China (Taiwan), Brazil, Israel, the USA, and Russia. In total, these countries received 75% of the shipments of beef.
In 2024, a record number of cattle processed was also recorded, closing the year with 22,213,203 cattle killed. The slaughterhouses with the highest volume are located northeast of the country: Belén, with 36,759 heads; and Concepción, with 21,094 heads.
A historical record was also reached in the export of Paraguayan beef by-products, such as offal, with almost 70 million kilos shipped in the last year. Not just beef, but also soybean, onions and tomatoes, and many other products are also exported while the government is also adding new exports destinations.
