Asunción will become a focal point for the sustainable fashion movement on 18 September, 2026, with the Casa MOLA Paraguay event. This regional gathering aims to promote sustainable practices, innovation, and the circular economy within the textile industry. The event will take place from 17:00 to 20:00 at the Espacio Cultural Palacio Staudt, with free admission available through prior registration.
The initiative will bring together emerging talents, established brands, design students, and industry professionals. It is designed as a space for exchanging knowledge, showcasing new proposals, and fostering alliances. The ultimate goal is to cultivate a more conscious, ethical, and innovative fashion industry in the region.
Networking and knowledge sharing
Under the theme “the future of fashion is also built in a network,” the day’s agenda includes talks focused on sustainability within the local fashion scene. These sessions will be led by prominent local figures including Adriana Chaparro, Lorena Marín, Jazmín Ruiz Díaz, and Analía Lombardo. They will address current trends, challenges, and opportunities facing the sector.
A dedicated networking session will also be held, providing an opportunity for students and professionals to connect with key market players. This will allow attendees to learn from experiences related to the circular economy and innovation in the textile industry. The event is structured to encourage collaboration among the various actors in the fashion ecosystem.
A showcase of local design
A central feature of Casa MOLA Paraguay will be a fashion show highlighting the work of local brands. The runway will feature collections from Fundación Princesa Diana, Laura Analía Lombardo, Fabiola Candia, Dulce González, and Damián Real. These designers were chosen following a workshop and competition organised with Universo MOLA and judged by international experts.
Fundación Princesa Diana is known for its work empowering vulnerable women through fashion and social innovation, often using repurposed materials. Designer Fabiola Candia is the creator of Punto Arte VCA, an enterprise that transforms waste into unique fashion pieces and was recognised as the Sustainable Enterprise of the Year in 2025.
A regional collaboration
Casa MOLA Paraguay is organised by Universo MOLA, a programme of the Entre Soles y Lunas Foundation, as part of its 10th-anniversary celebrations. Universo MOLA is considered the largest sustainable fashion movement in Latin America, working to connect and train designers across the continent. The event is held in partnership with the German-Paraguayan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AHK Paraguay) and the Paraguayan Chamber of Design and Innovation (PRODI). Lorena Marín, one of the event’s speakers, currently serves as the president of PRODI.
The gathering has also received support from institutions dedicated to cultural, social, and environmental development. Backers include Paraguay’s National Secretariat of Culture, the Municipality of Asunción, the Espacio Cultural Palacio Staudt, Global Compact Paraguay, Innovamos Consulting, Circular Economy Paraguay, and Mater Model Management.
