Netherlands-based company ADA Green Hydrogen Holdings BV plans to invest more than USD 100 million in the construction of a green hydrogen and ammonia production plant in Villa Hayes. The plant will begin operating in the first quarter of 2028.
The Rediex authorities received ADA Green Hydrogen Holdings BV representatives, who presented a project positioning Paraguay as a regional hub for creating renewable energy.
The company will be based in Villa Hayes due to the significant logistical advantages offered by the area, which allow for a scalable production capacity.
The businessman Akin Gunduz indicated that this project will position the country as a regional leader in renewable energy and provide important socioeconomic benefits, including job creation, technological advances, and greater energy security.
“We are proud to highlight the transformative impact of our USD 100 million investment in Paraguay’s green hydrogen sector. For our company, it represents a strategic milestone in advancing sustainable energy solutions globally and, at the same time, fosters economic growth and environmental management in a key market such as Paraguay,” said the investor.
Paraguay is a key energy hub for the region
Located in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, ADA Green Hydrogen Investment BV was formed by the merger of two firms, Erih Holdings B.V. and Pash Global, which is majority-owned by Trafigura. It focuses on developing and investing in green hydrogen projects to promote the sustainable energy transition.
The green hydrogen and ammonia project within the national territory will also strengthen Paraguay’s energy security and open avenues for exporting green hydrogen, generating substantial economic income and promoting long-term growth.
The business people’s delegation was accompanied by the Paraguayan ambassador to Turkey, Ceferino Valdez. The Network was represented by the Director General of Strategic Planning, Ernesto Rojas, and the Investment Specialist for Exports, Criss Díaz, who received the president of Ada Green Hydrogen Investments B.V, Akin Gündüz.
