Imagine a Saturday night in Asunción where the laughs do not stop, and the audience decides with a “like” or “nope” if there is a spark between two people from the audience that the event hosts match. That is exactly what Singles’ Night promises, the new comedy show with interactive games and live dynamics revolutionising the Paraguayan humour scene.
Organised by comedians Karim Cohener (Karim the Shark) and María Amor, alongside producer Rodrigo Sánchez (nicknamed El Cologuayo), this event is a party for singles (or not-so-singles) to connect, laugh, and perhaps find an unexpected match. Based on an exclusive chat with the creators, here is what you need to know for this Saturday, 11 October 2025, at Hopping Resto Tap in Asunción.
What is Singles’ Night?
This fresh format fuses stand-up comedy with integration games and improvisation, under the pretext of a “night to meet people.” It is not ‘boring’ speed dating, or a cliché singles club, but an experience to break the ice with spicy humour and trust-building dynamics.
The theme explores singledom – the freedom of feeling single – tackling taboos like dating and heartbreak, with respect and good vibes. Hosted entirely in Spanish, it is a great way to learn the language and integrate more into Paraguayan culture. Not just for singles: go with a partner, friends, or alone to have fun freely, dancing untethered and meeting new people, be it a friend or a toxic one.
Comedy flows with games, starting with audience chats (“What is your name? Who did you come with?”) before Tinder-style questions or challenges. “Humour gains trust. If I make you laugh, we connect,” says Karim. Like a real date: joke first, then spark.
The team behind the show
Veteran Paraguayan Karim brings “spicy” humour, touching subjects like singledom and homosexuality : “I touch taboos, like single adventures.” His improv excels in interactions.
María Amor (since 2019) spotlights dating from a woman’s view, covering diverse perspectives. Producer Rodrigo handles marketing, with the team drawing from underground stand-up projects.

Why go, and venue details
For comedy fans seeking difference, expect a couple of hours of high-energy laughs, improv, and games shedding shyness for real connections. “Better than Tinder: in person with laughs,” says Rodrigo. Karim invites gradually, reading body language, visitors loosen up. A post-show after-party with music extends the vibe.
At Hopping Restaurant the entry On October 11 2025, at 21:30, is free (18+). Arrive early to get a table with drink deals. Participation is voluntary and respectful: watch, eat, laugh if preferred.
Singles’ Night laughs at taboos and fosters bonds. As Karim says: “Go, have fun, laugh. A totally different Saturday.” Ready? Your match awaits at Hopping! And if a comedy show is not your cup of tea, worry not, because there a list of tons of other things to do in Asunción.
