On Monday, 13 October 2025, The Asunción Times kicks off the Investing in Paraguay Forum at the Holiday Inn Hotel in Asunción, igniting a dynamic evening of insights into the country’s investment opportunities. The Forum, held from 18:30 to 22:00, promises to offer a fresh and practical look at investment, bringing together an exceptional panel of five entrepreneurs and finance experts; aimed at entrepreneurs who are building 7/8-figure businesses in Paraguay, and individuals who are making, or who may make, 6/7/8-figure investments into Paraguay-based projects and businesses.
“Most investment forums in Paraguay are in Spanish, which limits global participation,” explains Jake, Forum moderator and CEO of The Asunción Times. “We change that, and create an inclusive, English-language space that answers the real questions international investors have about doing business here in Paraguay.”
A lineup of visionaries and innovators
We have lined up a fantastic panel with broad experience and knowledge of investing in Paraguay, specifically aimed at helping others do the same.

Markus Amann is an Austrian real estate developer who has left an indelible mark on Paraguay’s urban landscape. As President of PAAM S.A. and INMO PARAGUAY S.A., he has helped transform Asunción and Nueva Asunción. His projects include Edificio Miami, Atrium Villa Morra, and Bosque Lago. Landmark developments like Mirador del Chaco and Héroes del Chaco showcase the modern face of Paraguayan architecture.
Beyond construction, Amann’s dedication to community development is evident in his donation of land for Nueva Asunción’s future Town Hall and his multilingual YouTube channel, where he shares insights on investing and living in Paraguay.

Brock Courneya is a Canadian technology expert, bringing over 20 years of experience in fintech, SaaS, and data infrastructure to the Forum. As Director of Operations for POWER.COM.PY, an upcoming public AI data centre in Paraguay, Courneya is driving one of the region’s most innovative technology ventures.
Courneya’s journey from repairing computers as a child to managing infrastructure processing over US$1 trillion in payments exemplifies his entrepreneurial spirit.

Manuel Mercy García is Director at IMAP Paraguay and specialises in strategic advisory, M&A, and corporate finance across Latin America. With extensive experience in equity, debt, and acquisition strategies, García provides capital solutions for businesses of all sizes seeking to expand or reposition themselves in new markets.
His approach combines deep financial analysis with practical guidance for companies entering the Paraguayan market. Attendees to the Investing in Paraguay Forum can expect valuable advice on valuation, go-to-market strategies, and the challenges of managing complex financial transactions in the region.

Ale Rachid is a Paraguayan innovator and serial entrepreneur. He is the Founder and CEO of Poscontrols and Metrepay, two Asunción-based companies transforming how local businesses manage operations and payments. At Poscontrols, Rachid designed and developed the entire platform from scratch. He oversaw UX/UI, module integration, and financial strategies to ensure continuous growth.
With Metrepay, Rachid co-created a fintech platform that optimises banking operations, strengthens investor relations, and accelerates market expansion. His experience embodies Paraguay’s new generation of entrepreneurs, strategic, tech-savvy, and focused on sustainable innovation.

Finally, Nicolás Sanfurgo serves as an Investment Attraction Specialist at the Viceministry of Investment and Export Network (REDIEX), under Paraguay’s Ministry of Industry and Commerce. In this role, he leads strategic initiatives and international missions to position Paraguay as a strategic and reliable destination for global investment.
Sanfurgo’s Forum participation ensures attendees gain insight into Paraguay’s official strategies for promoting sustainable investment, and facilitating foreign partnerships.
