According to the organisation of Palma Joven Festival – Edición Vintage (Palma Youth Festival, the Vintage Edition), over 50,000 young people participated in the 2025 edition of the festival. This was held on Asunción’s traditional Palma street on September 20. Paraguayan youth enjoyed a day filled with music, art, and opportunities in a festive and secure atmosphere.

The event exceeded all expectations and proceeded without incident, establishing itself as one of the year’s largest youth gatherings. 2,000 educational scholarships were awarded across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, technical careers, training courses, diplomas, and language academies. Demonstrating a commitment to youth education and future prospects.

Reviving the old spirit

The event organisers intended to revive the old spirit from the 1970s, 80s and 90s “Palmear” era, a time when people from all ages went to Palma Street to spend time with friends, connect with nature, and welcome the spring with all kinds of activities.

Next to the awarding of scholarships, nnovative proposals and services of interest were also offered by young entrepreneurs and public, private, and embassy institutions. The event was organised by the AMCHA, the Association of Asunción Historical City Centre Mobility and the SNJ. The AMCHA could also count on the support of the First Lady’s Office, and with the support of the Municipality of Asunción.

Music takes centre stage

Music played a significant role at the Palma Joven Festival 2025, with performances from emerging bands and renowned national artists such as Goian, Salamandra, La Nuestra, Qumbia Juan, and Indio Rubio, among others, captivating the audience throughout the day. The festival culminated in a memorable moment: thousands of young people singing along to “Patria Querida” as DJ Indio Rubio mixed the classic national song live, accompanied by a spectacular fireworks display that lit up the Asunción night sky at midnight.

A celebration of Paraguayan youth

This finale celebrated Paraguayan youth and welcomed the spring season in a spirit of unity and excitement. Palma Joven, for the second consecutive year, reaffirms the Paraguay’s commitment to creating more spaces for youth encounters, inclusion, and opportunities in the heart of the country’s capital.
