Gretha Matiauda, a 22-year-old model from Paraguay, is lighting up the front cover of August 2024’s edition of Dubai’s Xpedition Magazine, a top magazine where several international celebrities have already posed, such as Nadia Ferreira, Miss Universe Paraguay 2021, and current Miss Universe Sheynnis Palacios.
Gretha has already made a significant impact in the fashion industry. With experience on some of Europe’s most prominent runways, the title of Miss Earth Paraguay 2023, and a recent appearance on the red carpet at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival this past May, her rise in the fashion world shows no signs of slowing down.
The magazine’s Instagram account highlights her feature, stating: “In this month’s issue, buckle up as we feature the ever-rising star of Paraguay and the Latin American community Gretha Matiauda”.
Another post emphasises her global mindset: “Being a global citizen means constantly learning and adapting. Gretha cherishes the diverse cultures she encounters, whether on the runway or in her studies. This lifestyle has nurtured an open mind and a deep appreciation for the world’s which tapestry of experiences.”
Although Gretha shines as a model, she sees beyond her career in fashion, having an even bigger dream: “My biggest dream is to be able to inspire other people to follow their passions and fight for their dreams. I want to use my platform to make a positive difference in the world, whether it’s through fashion, environmental activism, a foundation for women with cancer or any other opportunity that comes my way. And of course, continuing to be involved on the world stage would be a giant step towards that dream!” she said in a recent interview.
Gretha has also commented that Paraguay is shining on the international stage of fashion. More and more Paraguayan designers are showcasing their talent and creativity to the world, and she has said that she is “very proud” to be part of this movement.
