Paraguayan Poultry Exports See Revenue Soar By 76% In First Ten Months Of 2026

Revenue from Paraguayan poultry exports increased by 76% in the first ten months of 2026 compared to the same period in 2025. This surge generated an additional income of nearly US$7 million, according to a report from the National Service for Animal Quality and Health (Senacsa). The significant growth in the poultry sector has helped to offset declines in other areas of the nation’s meat industry.

The volume of poultry shipments also saw substantial growth. Exports rose by 55%, from 8.3 million kilograms between January and October 2025 to almost 13 million kilograms in the corresponding period of 2026. This year, Paraguay opened direct poultry exports to the United Arab Emirates and gained full primary meat market access in Taiwan after poultry approval.

Mixed results in other meat sectors

In contrast to Paraguayan poultry exports, the pork sector presented a more complex picture. While export volume increased marginally from 15.4 million to 16 million kilograms, revenues experienced a downturn. Income fell from US$46.3 million to US$43 million, marking a negative difference of approximately US$3 million.

The broader category, which includes exports of meat, offal, and other animal products, recorded a reduction of nearly 19%. Total shipments fell from 582 million kilograms in the first ten months of 2025 to 473 million kilograms this year. Consequently, the export value dropped from US$2.25 billion to US$2.12 billion.

Beef exports show volume decline but value increase

Specifically for bovine meat, shipments decreased in volume by almost 25%, falling from 305 million kilograms to 231 million kilograms. This led to a reduction in income, from US$1.79 billion in 2025 to US$1.65 billion in 2026.

Despite the overall decrease, several key markets remain strong destinations for Paraguayan beef. Chile continues to lead, with imports valued at US$505.7 million. The United States follows with US$315.8 million, then Israel at US$277.5 million, Taiwan at US$209.6 million, and Brazil with US$75.5 million.

Average price per kilogram rises

A positive trend emerged despite the reduction in beef export volumes. The average value per kilogram of bovine meat increased significantly, rising from US$5.85 to US$7.12. This indicates that Paraguayan beef is commanding a higher price on the international market.

However, exports of bovine offal saw a decline in both volume and value. Shipments decreased from 64.1 million to 41.4 million kilograms, while income fell from US$122.2 million to US$92 million. Nevertheless, similar to beef, the average value per kilogram for offal also increased, climbing from US$1.91 to US$2.22.
