The National Directorate of Migration today reaffirmed the requirements to enter Paraguay, and exit again, mainly aimed at foreign visitors who will arrive in Paraguayan territory to participate in the final of the Copa Sudamericana – and issued some general recommendations to be taken into account.
IMMIGRATION REQUIREMENTS FOR ENTERING PARAGUAY
All fans attending must have a valid ID or passport.
A travel document is required to enter the country. Only physical travel documents are valid, not digital ones.
Valid travel documents according to Mercosur Resolution CMC/DEC are:
FOR ARGENTINES: National Identity Document, Passport
FOR BRAZILIANS: Civil Identity Registry, Identity Card issued by each Unit of the Federation with national validity, Foreign Identity Card issued by the Ministry of Justice, Passport
If you are of another nationality, consult the general requirements for entry to Paraguay.
Current health requirements for people coming from risk areas
Fans coming from the States of the Federative Republic of Brazil mentioned below must present the Certificate of Vaccination against Yellow Fever to enter Paraguay: Pará, Tocantins, Minas Gerais, Sao Paulo, Paraná, Rio Grande do Sul, Amazonas,
The vaccine must be administered at least 10 days before entering Paraguay (Measure established by Resolution SG No. 275 of the Ministry of Public Health and Social Welfare of Paraguay).
General recommendations
Foreign visitors are urged to take the necessary precautions to contribute to a more agile and orderly entry and exit, planning, if possible, to cross the borders in advance to avoid crowds, especially on the day of the meeting.
Exercising its legal authority, the National Directorate of Migration may deny entry to Paraguay to fans who are prohibited from attending sporting events in their respective countries.
Proof of entry into the country
When registering their entry into Paraguay, the immigration inspector will provide proof of entry into the country to foreigners with a temporary stay (non-residents) who enter in private vehicles, on regular commercial transport buses or on foot.
The proof of entry into the country consists of the ticket issued and stamped by the immigration inspector to those who enter with an identity document. For those who enter with a passport, the stamp of entry into the country is stamped on said travel document.
This receipt will be required when leaving Paraguay, so it is recommended to keep it to avoid paying the established fine.
Exception for buses with closed passenger lists
Individual entry vouchers will not be issued to passengers on buses with a closed list who enter the country with an identity document, since the passenger manifest will be the document stamped with the institutional seal that will serve as the sole proof of entry for said group of fans.
