Ministry of Health regulates hourly load and working hours for doctors

The Ministry of Public Health has regulated the hourly load and working hours for medical professionals with permanent and/or contracted positions, who perform care or missionary functions in the health services dependent on the health portfolio.

Through Resolution N ° 2,679 / 24, the Minister of Health, María Teresa Barán, ordered to regulate the hourly load and working hours for medical professionals.

The document mentions, among other points, that the doctor with permanent position will meet a 12-hour weekly hourly load, for each work link.

Those hired with a specialty in anesthesiology, critical medicine, intensive care, intensive care, pediatrics, and neonatology, who perform functions in adult services, pediatrics or neonatology, will meet a 12 hour weekly hour load.

Likewise, the contracted medical professional whose seniority with the Ministry of Health is equal to or greater than five years, will meet a hourly load of 12 hours per week for each link.

In the case of professionals who are less than five years old or are hired from the date, they will have the following hour load; first link (24 hours weekly) second and third link (12 hours weekly).

Similarly, the doctor with a contractual link with a 36-hour weekly hourly load (equivalent to two links), with an age greater than or equal to five years, will meet the 24 hour weekly hour load.

In this order, the medical professional linked to the Primary Health Care Strategy will meet the hourly load of 36 hours per week, in the modalities established in the current function manual.
