Regiment 13 of Madrid at FITUR 2025

Paraguayan Dance Troupe Regiment 13 Dazzles At FITUR 2025

Paraguay left an indelible mark on FITUR 2025 with a show that combined art, tradition and passion, starring the dance troupe ‘Regimiento 13 de Madrid‘ (Regiment 13 of Madrid). This group of dancers, who call themselves “Soldiers of Art”, managed to thrill a multinational audience who applauded and photographed every step of their impeccable choreographies.

The cast of Regiment 13, made up of Paraguayan expats living in Spain, has been proudly representing the culture and traditions of the Guaraní country in Europe for 12 years. Founded by a group of friends who shared a love for traditional dances, Regimiento 13 has established itself as a true ambassador of Paraguayan identity.

One of the most exciting moments of the show was the performance of the traditional bottle dance. Liz Pereira, one of the dancers, managed to balance up to 8 bottles on her head while dancing to the rhythm of emblematic polkas such as Campamento Cerro León. Dressed in the typical typói and a colorful skirt with ñandutí details, Liz and her companions received applause when they accurately completed the line of women in perfect harmony, accompanied by the gentlemen.

Martín Domínguez, a dancer from the cast and a visual artist who has lived in Madrid since 2017, said: “We are making our culture and tradition known, putting our country on top in every place we go.”

The show at the Paraguayan stand was not only a showcase of the country’s rich cultural heritage, but also a testament to the love and commitment of its artists abroad. FITUR became the perfect stage for Paraguay to shine in all its splendor and reaffirm its place on the world’s tourist and cultural map.
