2026 is shaping up to be a landmark year for music in Paraguay, with major international concerts confirmed. Ed Sheeran in Paraguay is set to be a standout event, marking the British singer-songwriter’s first performance in the country. The concert will take place on 26 November 2026 at Estadio La Nueva Olla. Additionally, American artist Finneas is opening the show.
From Halifax to the world
Ed Sheeran was born in Halifax, England, in 1991 and grew up in Framlingham, Suffolk. He began busking on the streets of London as a teenager before catching the attention of major labels. His debut album + (Plus), released in 2011, shot to the top of the UK charts with songs such as “The A Team” and “Lego House.”

What followed was one of the most remarkable careers in contemporary pop music. Sheeran has sold an estimated 200 million records worldwide. He earned four Grammy Awards and multiple Brit Awards, and built a catalogue of hits, “Shape of You,” “Thinking Out Loud,” “Perfect”, that have become fixtures of popular culture across generations. He currently ranks among the most-streamed artists on Spotify, with over 100 million monthly listeners.
One man, one guitar, one stage
What distinguishes Sheeran from most artists of his stature is the simplicity of his live show. He performs entirely alone, armed with just an acoustic guitar and a loop pedal, a device that records and plays back sound in real time, allowing him to layer his own voice, guitar, and beatbox into full arrangements on the spot. There are no backing bands, no elaborate choreography, no guest performers during his set. Just Sheeran, his instrument, and tens of thousands of people hanging on every note.
It is a format that demands total command of the stage. Those who have seen him live consistently describe the experience as unexpectedly intimate for a stadium setting, a rare quality in modern pop spectacle.
Ed Sheeran in Paraguay: The Loop tour

The Loop Tour began in New Zealand in January 2026 and has since carried Sheeran across several continents. The Latin American leg opens in the Dominican Republic in May. Ed Sheeran in Paraguay is part of a tour that also includes stops in Puerto Rico, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Guatemala, and Costa Rica. The Paraguayan date will be the second stop of the southern South American stretch, which also includes Chile, Argentina, and Brazil. The announcement was made by production companies G5Pro and MOVE Concerts. The show is the arrival of one of the most successful musicians in history, and the fulfilment of a long-held wish for thousands of Paraguayan fans.
Finneas: back in Paraguay
Opening the show will be Finneas, the American singer, songwriter, and producer. He is best known as the creative partner and brother of global pop star Billie Eilish, with whom he has co-written and produced her entire discography. Finneas is not a stranger to Paraguay. He performed in Asunción in 2023, making this his second visit to the country.
Ed Sheeran and Paraguay: a long-standing connection

Long before confirming a concert date, Sheeran had already endeared himself to Paraguayan fans. During the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, the then-teenager took to social media to back the Paraguayan national team ahead of their quarter-final against Spain. “Paraguay should win if all goes well. It would be an interesting semi-final,” he wrote. The post resurfaced when the concert was announced, and it was received with both nostalgia and affection.
The connection runs deeper still. Sheeran is a minority shareholder of Ipswich Town F.C., the English football club that included Paraguayan international Julio Enciso in its squad. The two were photographed together, a moment that circulated widely among fans in both the football and music communities in Paraguay.
For fans who have followed Sheeran’s career from afar, streaming his albums, watching concert footage from other countries, the announcement represents something they had perhaps stopped expecting. The Loop Tour’s stop in Asunción is a reminder that Paraguay is increasingly on the map for major international acts. For those who will be at La Nueva Olla in November, it promises to be a night very hard to forget.
