Paraguayan Yerba Mate delegation in Chile

Paraguayan Yerba Mate and Stew Present at the Most Important Food Fair in Chile

A Paraguayan Yerba Mate Center delegation, led by its president Eduardo Oswald, is participating this week in the Foodservice Fair, the most important food industry event in Chile.

Through joint work with the Paraguayan Embassy in Chile, an event of international promotion of yerba mate in its different presentations, as well as mate cocido, the traditional drink gaining international notoriety, will take place. The event called “Discovering the Authentic Flavour of Yerba Mate” will be held at the residence of the Paraguayan ambassador in Chile, Antonio Rivas.

The Foodservice Fair, which takes place between October 1 and 3 in its twelfth edition, is where the main actors of the industry meet and show the latest news and trends in products, services and technologies.

This space is one more used by the Paraguayan Yerba Mate Center, which has already developed other trade missions, such as the one carried out in February this year in the United Arab Emirates, within the framework of the Gulfood 2024 fair.

The production of yerba mate for this traditional Paraguayan beverage generates employment for thousands of families in Paraguay. According to data from the Paraguayan Yerba Mate Center, with 45,000,000 kilos of yerba mate, it employs 55,000 families in the country.
