Families From Different Parts Of The Country Offer Farm Products At Three Simultaneous ‘Family Farming Fairs’

These ‘Family Farming Fairs’ are not confined to a single location, but are spread across the country. Small producers from communities in Central and Caaguazú, as well as Paraguarí and Cordillera departments, come together to offer their farm products without intermediaries.

The fairs are held simultaneously in three distinct locations: the esplanades of Canal GEN, on Avenida Mariscal López near Calle McArtur; of Venus Media, on Avenida República Argentina and Alberto De Souza; and of the Iglesia Medalla Milagrosa, in the city of Fernando de la Mora.

The Paraguayan government promotes it through technical departments of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, with the support of the Binational Entity Itaipú, to promote the development and dynamism of rural families’ productivity in the country.

The three fairs benefit 165 families and seven organizations from Capiatá, Ypacaraí, Itá, and Areguá in Central, San José de los Arroyos in the department of Caaguazú, and 175 families and six organizations from Central, Paraguarí, and Cordillera.

The exhibitors offer fresh, quality products to the public at fair prices, such as Paraguayan cheese, pork, pork, piglets, goats, sheep, homemade chicken, duck, and homemade eggs. Also, corn, corn flour, red beans, honey, peanuts, peanut, and butter beans. In addition to starch, tomato, bell pepper, cassava, sweet potato, green vegetables in general, seasonal fruits, grains in general, a variety of typical and traditional foods, handicrafts, flowers and plants, among other products.
