SND Sports Schools Open 2026 Enrolment In Asunción

Young athletes across Paraguay will once again have the opportunity to train in a wide range of sporting disciplines. The National Sports Secretariat (SND) finally opens registrations for its 2026 Sports Schools season. The enrolment period will run on Tuesday 24, Wednesday 25, and Thursday 26 February, from 08:00 to 19:00, at the SND Arena in Asunción.

The initiative forms part of the SND’s long-standing social and educational project. Sports Schools project aims to combine structured sports training with value-based learning. The programme offers both theoretical and practical instruction, creating a space for young people to learn more about sports.

A holistic approach to youth development

The SND Sports Schools project is more than just physical training. The project is conceived as a comprehensive educational process that integrates sport with character development. Through recreational and didactic activities, participants are encouraged to strengthen their technical skills while also cultivating teamwork, discipline, and perseverance.

Sport Schools classes are open to children and teenagers aged 6 to 17, ensuring early access to structured sports education. At the same time, adults can be included in specific programmes. Therefore, reflecting a broader commitment to healthy lifestyles and community engagement.

The disciplines offered this year include Chess, Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, and Boxing. Also, Fencing, Football, Artistic Gymnastics, Rhythmic Gymnastics, Handball, Judo, and Karate Do. Lastly, Olympic Wrestling, Swimming, Padel, Artistic Skating, Squash, ITF Taekwondo, Tennis, Table Tennis, Indoor Volleyball, and Beach Volleyball. Meanwhile, adults may enrol in Boxing and Zumba. Through the ‘Get Active-Healthy Living’ (Actívate–Vida Sana) Sports School, an initiative focused on promoting active living and well-being.

Multiple venues across Asunción

Sport Schools classes will be held at several locations. These are: the SND Complex, the National Aquatic Centre, the Cateura neighbourhood, and the San Francisco neighbourhood. In total, 22 sports will be offered across three main venues. While the San Francisco neighbourhood will host nine disciplines for children and teenagers, alongside Zumba classes for adults. This multi-venue structure ensures broader access for families living in different parts of the capital, making organised sport more accessible to diverse communities.

Requirements and how to enrol

Parents or guardians wishing to enrol children must present a photocopy of the student’s identity card, a photocopy of the parent or guardian’s identity card, and a valid medical certificate confirming physical fitness for sports practice, updated for 2026. Adult participants are required to submit a photocopy of their identity card and a 2026 medical certificate.

Registration documents will be received exclusively on 24, 25, and 26 February between 08:00 and 19:00 at the SND Complex. Sport Schools’ class schedules and discipline details are available via the official SND channels.
