Paraguay Explores New Tourism And Residential Opportunities At FITUR 2026

As part of the International Tourism Fair (FITUR 2026) held in Mexico, a working meeting was held at the Paraguayan stand to analyse new tourism and residential investment opportunities. The aim for the country is to strengthen its international positioning. Natalia Cáceres, Commercial Attaché of the Investment and Export Network (Rediex) at the Paraguayan Embassy in Spain, participated in the meeting. Alongside her were Constanza Lina Profeta and Perla Adorno Correa, representative of AG79 Consulting.

At the last edition of the International Tourism Fair in Madrid, Paraguay was offering attendees a 10-course Paraguayan food feast. Apart from gastronomy, the nation showcases its culture and arts with performances of Regiment 13 dance group. Paraguayan representative also featured crafts in the art category during last year’s event.

Gated communities for senior citizens

During the meeting at FITUR 2026, the discussion evolved around promoting an innovative project in Paraguay. The goal is for the construction of a residential condominium for senior citizens, under a gated community model with comprehensive services. Already existing in other countries, the initiative seeks to offer a safe environment with all the amenities for seniors.

Those types of projects would have a special focus on retirees from the United States. The aim is to look for foreigners who are interested in settling in peaceful, accessible destinations with a high quality of life. This type of proposal opens up a strategic perspective for Paraguay. Not only as a tourist destination, but also as a retirement and international residence destination. These offers are combining hospitality, services, a favourable climate, and competitive costs.

The dialogue held at the FITUR 2026 allowed for an exploration of the conditions and opportunities Paraguay offers for developing investments of this nature. This is strengthening ties between public sector, trade promotion area, and potential investors interested in investing in the nation.
