24-year-old Erika Alarcón Anisimoff was born in Ciudad del Este, and has been making steady progress in her career. At the 2023 Artistic Skating World Championships in Ibagué, Colombia, she achieved a historic milestone as the first Paraguayan to win a World Championship medal, securing third place in the Senior Ladies Solo Dance event. After her golden Pan American Championships in Buenos Aires earlier this year, she has become the first Paraguayan roller skater to complete the prestigious Pan American Hat-Trick, winning gold.

Echoing Alarcón’s latest euphoria, the Paraguayan Skating Confederation hailed the victory as a source of national pride. “Paraguayan pride on the world podium,” it declared, noting that “Erika Alarcón won the silver medal at the Artistic World Championships – Beijing 2025, once again leaving Paraguay’s name at the top.”
