Swimming is considered one of the most comprehensive sports, as it not only involves the use of arms and legs but also engages movements of the entire torso.
At the National Aquatic Center (CAN) in Asunción, which is located near Parque de Salud and Las Lomas, and was the venue for the competitions of the ASU2022 South American Games and the South American School Games, swimming classes for beginners and adults are starting under the guidance and supervision of professionals from the Pacifico Club.
Instructor Liz Karina Prieto explained that classes are offered from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM, accommodating different schedules. For beginners, classes start with flotation and breathing exercises, progressing to specific swimming techniques.
Prieto emphasized the importance of learning to swim to prevent drowning risks and enable both children and adults to enjoy water activities safely. Additionally, she highlighted the physical benefits of swimming, which engages most muscle groups and contributes to maintaining a healthy heart and lungs, as well as joint flexibility, especially in the neck, shoulders, and pelvis.
Following a renovation of its facilities, the National Aquatic Center has become a prominent venue for aquatic sports disciplines, being a key location during the ASU2022 South American Games and the South American School Games. For more information and registration, you can contact 0982 628-730.
