The International Federation of Associated Football (FIFA) congress held at the headquarters of Conmebol, in the Republic of Luque near Asunción’s airport, made official the stadiums that will host the matches of the 2030 World Cup. For Paraguay, the chosen stadium is the Osvaldo Domínguez Dibb stadium, which will be built in time for the event.
“A historic place, a work for eternity, Estadio Ueno OSVALDO DOMINGUEZ DIBB, Official Venue of the FIFA WORLD CUP 2030” posted Club Olimpia on its social media, celebrating the news.
They accompanied the post with a video explaining the characteristics that the modern new stadium will have, with capacity for 46,000 people, 338 boxes (198 west sector, 40 suites at field level, 40 east sector, 36 in north and south sectors), 4 Fan Zone spaces, 8 food courts and access through 4 streets.
“Olimpia can, Paraguay can, Welcome to the future OSVALDO DOMINGUEZ DIBB Ueno Stadium, official venue of the FIFA WORLD CUP 2030” posted the president of Club Olimpia, Enrique Nogues.
Meanwhile, Alejandro Domínguez, head of the South American Football Confederation, stressed that “we have the responsibility to make history, to remember those who came before us, and to show the world that football unites us.”
He pointed out that football is lived with great passion in South America, and the three countries are ready and up to the task of making this possible.”
“We dreamed it, we believed in it and today it is a reality! The three stadiums that will host the 2030 World Cup in Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay. We are ready!” said an elated Alejandro Domínguez.
