International specialists will gather in Asunción for the third Taiwan-Paraguay Technology Forum, scheduled for 11 and 12 September 2026. The event will focus on the impact of artificial intelligence, innovation, and technological development. It is being organised by the Taiwan-Paraguay Polytechnic University (UPTP) in collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) in Paraguay.
The forum will take place at the Convention Centre of the Central Bank of Paraguay from 08:00 to 17:30. Attendance is free of charge, and the event will be held in person. Prospective attendees can register from 13 August through the official channels of the UPTP.
A hub for international expertise
The conference aims to bring together experts from Paraguay, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, the United States, and Taiwan. The two-day programme will feature keynote speeches, international panels, networking opportunities, and research presentations. A key objective of the forum is to strengthen the links between academia, industry, the public sector, and international cooperation agencies.
Discussions will explore the principal challenges and opportunities presented by artificial intelligence in strategic sectors. Topics will include Industry 4.0, energy, digital health, and smart agriculture. The agenda will also cover logistics, financial innovation, cybersecurity, digital government, and business productivity.
Fostering national development and cooperation
The third Taiwan-Paraguay Technology Forum is, according to the organisers, designed for a broad audience, including business leaders, government officials, academics, researchers, and students. It also welcomes entrepreneurs, technology professionals, and representatives from international organisations and the innovation ecosystem. Members of the public with an interest in artificial intelligence and technological advancement are also encouraged to attend.
Organisers intend for the forum to serve as a platform connecting the national technology ecosystem with international leaders, thereby creating new avenues for cooperation. The joint effort by the UPTP and the Embassy of Taiwan underscores a shared commitment to enhancing the technological ties between the two nations.
Building on previous successes
The third Taiwan-Paraguay Technology Forum marks the third iteration of the forum. The inaugural forum was held in August 2024, also at the Central Bank of Paraguay’s Convention Centre. It covered a wide range of subjects, such as cybersecurity, sustainability, educational research, bioinformatics, medical engineering, emerging technologies, energy, and technology in high-performance sports.
The second edition took place in September 2025 in the city of Ciudad del Este, with a central focus on semiconductors. That event examined the industry’s value chain, the competitive advantages of the sector, and the strategies of leading companies. It also presented the Taiwanese model of technological development as a potential framework for Paraguay. This third forum will continue to build on this foundation, positioning artificial intelligence as a key driver for national development.
