ANDE Underground Electricity Lines Advance In Downtown Asunción

The execution of the “Advanced Underground Electric Power Networks” project in the center of Asunción, which is progressing according to the planned schedule, was verified this Friday by the president of the National Electricity Administration (ANDE), Félix Sosa, accompanied by members of the technical team of the institution as part of an inspection of the new underground electricity lines.

The works currently being carried out on various sections of Presidente Franco Street consist of civil excavation works, installation of electrical ducts, construction of manholes and repair of sidewalks, in addition to the new underground electricity lines.

The head of ANDE also observed the progress of the execution of strategic works for the metropolitan system, as well as the monitoring and verification of maintenance work at the Puerto Botánico and Parque Caballero substations.

The Puerto Botánico substation is one of the most important substations within the metropolitan area, with an installed capacity of 600 MVA. For its part, the Parque Caballero substation, in the final stage of its project, will have a total installed capacity of 240 MVA.

A spokesperson for the national grid said: “ANDE is moving forward with the execution and commissioning of important infrastructure works to strengthen the National Interconnected System, which results in the supply of reliable electricity for citizens.”
