The value of Paraguay’s beef exports grew to over US$658 million in April 2025, representing a 42.8% increase compared to the same period in 2024.
This rise in sales value was also accompanied by an increase in export volume, which was 23% higher than the amount recorded last year. From January to April this year, over 116 million kilograms of beef were sold on the international market, according to new data from Paraguay’s National Service for Animal Health and Quality (Senacsa).
The figures show that Paraguayan beef is becoming even more popular in international markets, with the rate of price growth outperforming the rate of supply.
Chile remains the top destination for Paraguayan beef exports, accounting for 32% of the total. It is followed by Taiwan, which currently absorbs 14% of the country’s beef exports. The United States ranks third with a 12% share, while Israel ranks fourth with 10%.
Pork and poultry exports also increased
More than 4 million kilograms of pork were exported from Paraguay during the first four months of this year, 40% more than during the same period last year.
Taiwan is the primary market for Paraguayan pork, consuming 82% of the product, followed by Uruguay with 12%, Georgia with 4%, and Brazil with 2%.
Regarding poultry, over 1.7 million kilograms of chicken meat were exported by April, representing a 4.7% increase compared to the same period last year.
The largest market for poultry exports is Iraq, which accounts for 40% of total exports in this category. Albania follows with 20%, Vietnam with 16%, and Angola with 6%.
Paraguay’s beef exports and pork exports sector is booming, with advances in international trade relations occurring regularly. Recently, Taiwan approved two Paraguayan Meat Processing Plants For Pork And Beef Exports which is already facilitating increased economic activity in the sector.
