The head of state, Santiago Peña, today swore in the new president of the Supreme Military Court, Nicolas Ángel Narvaez Retamozo. On the other hand, a mass was announced in honor of soldiers swept away by the torrent in Lambaré.
The Minister of National Defense, Oscar González, reported that President Peña this morning addressed issues related to military affairs and in that context, the interim president of the Supreme Military Court of Justice was sworn in.
“We informed the president about the different activities we have been carrying out,” said the minister.
On another occasion, he announced that on Monday they will support a comprehensive day of services that the Paraguayan Indigenous Institute (INDI) is promoting in the Chaco region, for the benefit of indigenous communities.
“We want to show that the Government, through the Armed Forces, is concerned about assisting indigenous communities, especially in Chaco,” he stressed.
At another time, he announced that the list of promotions for the Military Forces had already been sent by the Executive to the National Congress, awaiting the call and the corresponding approval of the parliamentarians. “This was sent in a timely manner for the approval of the Legislature,” he added.
