Open Invitation To The Paraguayan Congress of Museology This Week In Asunción

From tomorrow, Friday 25 to Sunday 27 October, Asunción will host an important series of conferences and workshops focused on museology, organised by the Paraguayan Association of Museologists and Museum Workers (AMUS). For three days, essential topics for the development and management of museums, as well as for the preservation of cultural heritage, will be discussed at the Paraguayan Congress of Museology.

The topics to be analysed and discussed include cultural promotion through museums, innovative methodologies applied to museum education, and museological research, with a focus on emerging paradigms and cultural heritage.

Collective memory collection and collection management in the face of the challenges of climate change will also be explored. The use of new technologies in the preservation and dissemination of heritage will be another of the event’s key themes. The event will also address the enhancement of collections of sacred art and religious heritage, as well as the management of biological collections, highlighting their relevance for research.

Experts will share experiences on how museums can adapt to contemporary challenges, including preservation in times of climate crisis and the use of advanced technologies to protect and promote cultural heritage.

The event will begin on Friday, October 25 and Saturday, October 26 at the Metropolitan Seminary of Asunción, and will culminate on Sunday the 27th at the Monseñor Juan Sinforiano Bogarín Museum, an emblematic space for the conservation of sacred art and religious heritage in Paraguay.
