New Night Light System Inaugurated At Guasu Metropolitan Park

The National Electricity Administration (ANDE) and the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) officially inaugurated the modern public lighting system in the Guasu Metropolitan Park, one of the most emblematic recreational spaces in Asunción.

This project improves safety, comfort and nighttime visibility for families who frequent the park for sports and recreational activities.

As part of this project, 236 190W type 6 LED luminaires were installed, which stand out for their unmatched energy efficiency, durability and for being more environmentally friendly.

In addition, the electrical distribution system was reinforced by changing 364 meters of Medium Voltage lines from bare conductors to protected ones and 111 meters of Low Voltage lines from bare conductors to pre-assembled ones.

The works were carried out through National Public Tender No. 1743/23, contract No. 9398/24 (Man Hour Record – HHPO), under the open contract modality, with the TEI Consortium as responsible party. The total investment in the project, which included labor and materials, amounted to Gs 700 million (approximately USD 90,000)

During the opening ceremony, ANDE President, Eng. Félix Sosa, expressed his satisfaction with the results obtained.

“Thanks to the joint efforts of both institutions, today we are inaugurating this LED lighting system in the Guasu Metropolitan Park. It is worth noting that in July we had already installed similar lighting in the Ñu Guasu Park, thus complying with the directives of the President of the Republic to work as a team for the well-being of citizens. From now on, families will be able to enjoy this wonderful space with greater safety,” he said.

For her part, the Minister of Public Works and Communications, Claudia Centurión, highlighted the positive impact of joint work.

“This inter-institutional effort strengthens the safety of families visiting the park, especially during the holidays. In addition, we are planning new recreational spaces within the Guasu Metropolitan Park, which is already monitored by Grupo Lince equipment, guaranteeing a calm and safe experience for everyone.”
