According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, the “Family Agriculture Fairs”, widely known as Family Farming Fairs have not only collected more than 55,530 Million Guaraníes but have also directly benefited 6,040 families from August of last year to June of this year. This figure is five times greater than that observed during the previous government’s tenure, a testament to the significant impact on individual families that the additional promotion of these events is generating.
A total of 4,388 of these events have already been held, and more than 663 organisations were involved. Through direct sales, options are offered directly from the producer’s farm to the consumer’s table without intermediaries or middlemen.
Carolin Leguizamón, coordinator of the ministry’s fairs, highlighted that producers received training for the events, both in taxation and other technical actions to complete the final circuit of the products. More Family Farming Fairs are on the horizon, promising to bring the same level of success and benefit to the main departmental capitals, in Pedro Juan Caballero, the Paraguayan Chaco, Caazapá, Pilar, among others.
“From now on comes the strong season in terms of fairs because you have to know that this type of enterprise is done nationwide from 3 to 5 times a week,” Leguizamón said, sparking anticipation for the future.
