Taiwanese President Lai Ching-te, together with the Paraguayan Minister of Tourism, Angie Duarte, and Ambassador Carlos Fleitas, inaugurated the Paraguay stand at the ITF 2024 International Trade Fair in Taipei, also known as the Taipei Tourism Fair, highlighting the strong ties of friendship that unite both countries.
“Without a doubt, this is the beginning of planning collaborative actions that promote tourism development between both countries,” said the minister from the Taiwan.
He mentioned that the objective is to promote and strengthen Paraguay in the Asian market and mainly through a stand of tourist experiences, showing its living culture and pure nature.
The Paraguayan delegation highlighted some of the most popular tourist routes in Paraguay, such as the Sugarcane Route, the Yerba Mate Route, the Crafts Route, the Fascinating Chaco and its ecotourism circuits, Birdwatching packages, cultural Asunción, and its gastronomic delights, as well as other attractions.
Paraguay presents itself to the world with the message “Paraguay is nature, culture, history, heritage and gastronomy”, inviting people to discover its tourism potential in nature, its cultural heritage, leisure and recreation, as well as the gastronomy that has made a strong presence in international exhibitions abroad.
During the four days of the Taiwan Tourism Fair, Paraguayan sugar cane, stew and chipitas, and essential traditional products, will be on offer at the Paraguay stand.
The first contacts were also made with local tour operators to include Paraguay in the circuit for Taiwanese and other tourists from the region who wish to take adventure trips, discover and enjoy nature, as well as religious culture.
