The collective art exhibition “Integración” is set to open on Wednesday, 10 June 2026, at the Paraguayan American Cultural Centre (CCPA) in Asunción. The event, scheduled for 19:30 in the Agustín Barrios Gallery, will serve as a heartfelt tribute to Lilia Angela Ces, a pivotal figure in the development of Paraguay’s visual arts scene.
The exhibition seeks to revive the spirit of Arte Reunido, a cultural space founded by Ces that for many years championed the integration and promotion of both national and international artists. Such events are vital for recognising the foundational contributions that shape a nation’s cultural landscape.

A celebration of a pivotal arts advocate
Organised by the artist and cultural manager Horacio Guimaraens, the exhibition aims to formally acknowledge the profound and lasting legacy of Lilia Angela Ces. Her dedicated work is credited with leaving an indelible mark on the country’s artistic community. This influence was built upon her continuous and robust support for creators, alongside an unwavering commitment to broader cultural promotion.
The tribute holds particular significance as it is being held at the Paraguayan American Cultural Centre, an institution with which Ces had a deep connection. For several years, she served as the director of the centre’s Roosevelt Library. This professional history demonstrates that her contributions to the nation’s cultural life were multifaceted, extending from literature and knowledge to the visual arts.
The enduring legacy of Arte Reunido
Lilia Angela Ces founded Arte Reunido in 2011, initially launching it as a digital platform. This virtual gallery was dedicated to the dissemination, promotion, and sale of contemporary Paraguayan art, using modern tools to expand artists’ reach. Over time, however, the project’s scope grew beyond the digital realm. It evolved into a physical space that became a crucial hub for fostering integration between emerging talents and established figures in the art world.
As a physical entity, Arte Reunido became a catalyst for a programme of activities. It hosted numerous collective exhibitions, workshops, and public talks, all of which substantially enriched the national arts circuit. The project successfully transcended the traditional role of a gallery. It cultivated an open and pluralistic environment that became a centre for community building, the exchange of creative experiences, and meaningful human connection through art.
Moreover, Arte Reunido promoted cultural circulation initiatives both within Paraguay and abroad, cementing its status as one of the most important independent spaces for the visual arts in the last decade.
A gathering of artistic talent
The “Integración” exhibition brings together a diverse group of creators to celebrate this legacy. Many of the participating artists have historical ties to Arte Reunido, having been part of its journey over the years. They are joined by other artists who are keen to pay homage to the significant human and cultural impact of Lilia Angela Ces.
