It’s official! The fifth edition of the World Skate Games will roll into Asunción, Paraguay.
The contract has been signed between the governing body for skateboarding and roller sports and Paraguayan authorities, with President Santiago Peña and World Skate President Sabatino Aracu sealing the deal for what will be an incredible celebration of skating culture.
Following the journey from Nanjing, China (2017), Barcelona (2019), Buenos Aires (2022) and different regions in Italy (2024), World Skate is thrilled to return to South America for another epic festival of youth, sport and entertainment.
‘To the heart of Asunción’
‘This will not just be World Championships of all our sports together, but a true festival bringing competitions to the heart of Asunción and creating unique experiences for athletes and spectators’, says World Skate President Aracu.
The World Skate Games Italy 2024 generated an economic impact of 439 million euros and recorded impressive numbers on traditional and social media. After Italy’s success (154 world titles, skaters from 90 countries and a total of 10.800 athletes and staff), Aracu can’t wait to see what Paraguay will bring to the Games.
The return to South America
Paraguay will become the second South American nation to host this prestigious event, following Argentina’s successful organisation in 2022. The choice of Paraguay as the host of the next World Skate Games represents an important step in the global expansion strategy of sports on skating wheels and confirms the South American country’s commitment to sports development and the attraction of major international events.
Dates for the World Skate Games 2026 will follow
At the 2026 edition in Asunción, all 12 sports on skating wheels will unite again – from skateboarding and freestyle to speed, downhill, slalom team sports and artistic skating. Dates and venues will follow in the coming months.
