Restaurante Dam in Ciudad del Este

Restaurante Dam: The Best Korean Restaurant In Ciudad del Este

Each week, Tommy-Maurice is going to a different restaurant in Asunción. This week, he moved to Ciudad del Este and tried Restaurante Dam, an establishment located in the Barrio Centro.

I had never been to the Departamento de Alto Paraná before. Ciudad del Este was new for me. With approximately 80 different nationalities represented in the city, it gives citizens the chance to display and help others discover local cuisine from around the world. In downtown, there are multiple options for East Asian and Middle Eastern cuisine. My friend, now living in the area, wanted to try this restaurant, and I was also curious about what they could offer. The cuisine was excellent, but the experience was even better.

What Restaurante Dam has to offer?

Restaurante Dam is a Korean establishment offering different types of meat, seafood, and vegetables in the form of platters to eat and share with other people. You can also take individual items.

When you go to Restaurante Dam or another of this genre, it is not just for the food but also for the experience that goes with it. The restaurant employees prepare and cook the food for the platters directly in front of you on grills hidden on both ends of the tables. It is safe, as all the restaurant personnel are trained for this kind of cooking. During the process, someone with more experience advises them on how to improve it. You should try it if you have never been to a place like this. You will probably like it. For those fans of “K-POP,” you will be served with music and a television to display the videoclip.

The verdict!

While my friends took a plate to share containing meat, seafood, and vegetables, I took a spicy beef soup. They were not lying; it was spicy, but I am still alive, thanks to water. It was delicious and savoury, and the portion was huge. I was also given a bowl of rice to accompany my soup. Both combined, it was too big of a portion to be able to eat everything.

The establishment was really clean and well-maintained. The employees and the manager are very polite and helpful. The restaurant has a perfect location for tourists. Restaurante Dam is one of the best restaurant in Ciudad del Este!

As for the price, it is a different system. With multiple tourists around the area, the prices are in American dollars. All the items, excluding beverages, are between USD 5 and USD 50. It depends on what you want to eat. The most expensive food item is named La Noria. It is a “Ferris Wheel of Food” for three to five people. Individually, then, it is not as expensive as it looks. My spicy beef soup was priced at nine dollars and was brought in a gigantic bowl. Food from Restaurante Dam really worth the price.
