MICSUR Paraguay 2026 Opens Calls For Local Artists And Fashion Designers

Paraguayan artists, performers and fashion designers can now apply for MICSUR Paraguay 2026. The regional cultural industries market will take place from 19 to 22 November in Asunción. In addition, the National Secretariat of Culture (Secretaría Nacional de Cultura) opened applications for music, performing arts and fashion. Applicants have until 18 October 2026 to submit their proposals for consideration.

Meanwhile, the fifth edition will bring together creative professionals from 10 countries at the Centro Cultural del Puerto. MICSUR will connect artists, producers, buyers and programmers across South America. The programme will combine professional meetings, showcases, exhibitions, fashion shows and training spaces. This year’s central theme, “Culture + Territory + Digital Future”, places creativity and technology together.

Music and arts take the stage

For musicians and performing artists, the showcase calls offer a chance to present work directly. Each selected showcase will last 20 minutes before industry professionals and cultural institutions. Music applicants can submit solo projects, bands, groups or ensembles with adaptable live sets. Performing arts applicants can present theatre, dance, circus, performance, puppetry or multidisciplinary projects.

The selection process will look beyond artistic quality when reviewing each proposal. The committee will consider originality, artistic trajectory, international potential and commercial opportunities. Territorial representation will also matter, with particular value placed on activity outside Asunción and Central Department. Applicants must submit a completed form, portfolio, proposal video, identification copy and motivation letter.

Fashion designers join MICSUR

The fashion call will select original clothing, footwear and accessories for Paraguay’s delegation. Designers, independent brands, collectives and fashion companies can submit up to five pieces. Each proposal must demonstrate a verifiable productive connection with Paraguay through design, development or production. The selected pieces will contribute to a unified presentation alongside other participating national delegations.

The MICSUR fashion show will feature five assigned passes for each participating country. Paraguay’s presentation will combine selected pieces into five coordinated looks for the runway. Designers must provide a professional portfolio, technical information, photographs and a short video. The application also requires identification, a brand or designer profile and a motivation letter.

How to apply before the deadline

Both calls opened on 2 October and will close on 18 October at 23:59. Organisers will evaluate applications from 19 to 22 October before publishing the selected participants on 23 October. Applicants must use the official MICSUR Paraguay platform and follow the requirements for their specific category. The event itself will take place from 19 to 22 November at the Centro Cultural del Puerto.

MICSUR Paraguay 2026 focuses on strengthening the circulation and internationalisation of creative projects across the region. This edition will cover 11 sectors, including audiovisual, music, performing arts, fashion, publishing and video games. More than 400 professionals and over 1,000 meetings are expected across the four-day programme. For Paraguayan creators, the open calls provide a direct route into a regional professional network.
