A new edition of Embarcate x El Barullo will take place on Saturday, 14 March 2026, at the Cultural Centre of the Port of Asunción. The event promises an afternoon and evening filled with music, art, and local creativity. Visitors can enjoy the riverside atmosphere while exploring cultural activities open to the public.
The festival is organised by independent producers with support from the National Secretariat of Culture. Entry is free, making it an accessible option for those seeking weekend plans in the capital. Activities will unfold along the riverfront, offering views of the Paraguay River and sunset over the historic port area.
Local market highlights Paraguayan creativity
The art, design, crafts, and entrepreneurs’ fair will open at 15:00. Visitors will be able to explore a variety of stalls showcasing handmade pieces and original products.
Among the confirmed exhibitors are Sonia Helion with ñandutí creations and Noelia Pérez with macramé. Illustrator Yuliana Constantini will also present her work, alongside Martín Zeballos, with leather accessories. Other participants include Judith Villanueva, Laila Samudio, Ada Frutos, Luis Fernández, Carmen Díaz, and Evelin Barrios.
Together, these creators offer a diverse mix of illustrations, accessories, clothing, paintings, and handcrafted items. The fair aims to promote local entrepreneurship while connecting artists directly with visitors. Open-air stalls will allow guests to browse comfortably throughout the afternoon.
Live music and food by the river
The El Barullo Festival stage will feature several live bands performing throughout the evening. The line-up includes Astrea, Goian, Loktar, Hay Un Marciano En Tu Alfombra, Válvula, The Monkey Brick, and Thabo. The new edition of the Embarcate Festival programme brings together different musical styles and highlights emerging national artists. As a result, the event continues to strengthen spaces for Paraguay’s independent music scene.
Food stalls will also be available during the event. Visitors can enjoy grilled hamburgers, choripán, and traditional asaditos. For dessert, Michi Raspados will offer refreshing shaved ice treats. Embarcate – Cultural Afternoons at the Port is a programme created by the National Secretariat of Culture. It seeks to revitalise the Port of Asunción through public cultural activities.
